Wanted - Hunter Hayes (I'm Obsessed)

I am a HUGE Hunter Hayes fan. I heard Wanted on the radio the other day but thought it sounded different. Ever since then, I'd been searching for the "Wanted Pop Version" online but hadn't been able to find it. Until tonight... :) Click on the link below and take a listen. I love the original country version. Don't get me wrong. But this version is starting to grow on me.

My recent favorite has been Somebody's Heartbreak <3

And for all you MG's out there, I feel like this song down below is perfect for this time of year *cough* Valentines Day *cough*

Along with my Hunter Hayes fangirl moment.. Maybe you all don't know about some of his other amazing songs. Such as, Cry With You and Love Makes Me

I hope you all enjoyed this completely random blog post. Sorry it wasn't missionary related. But then again, it kind of was. A little bit.. Maybe?
Ok bye :)

The Hobbit!!

This past Thursday night, we went to the midnight (technically 12:15) premier of The Hobbit!
First, I made sure I had plenty of snacks to enjoy. We brought:
  1. Homemade popcorn with white cheddar seasoning
  2. Pomegranate seeds (healthy yet so yummy)
  3. The best gummy bears in the world
  4. Dr. Pepper (gotta stay away, right?)
  5. Munchies (for Jared)
  6. And some homemade cookies :)

Funny side story: I bought the gummy bears from Orange Leaf (a frozen yogurt place over in Highland) because if you haven't ever tried them, they're the best gummy bears on the face of the planet. The flavors are just so good. So I went to Orange Leaf and filled up a cup that's usually used for Frozen Yogurt. The girl working gave me a kind of funny look. But who cares :)
ANYWAY,
We arrived at the theatre almost an hour early. It was completely packed. Like, it was hard to walk 5 steps in any direction. We had to wait for a while.
We were super excited :)

The movie seemed slow to me during the first half. Probably cuz I was seriously about to fall asleep at any second. But then the scene with Bilbo and Gollum came and I was awake the rest of the time. If you haven't seen it yet, GO SEE IT!

Thanksgiving/Temple Square Date :)

Wow, I really need to get better at blogging. Like seriously...
I'm not even really sure what this post is going to be about. But it's going to be an update on recent events. Ok so I think we can all attest that November went by SO quickly. Along with the rest of the year, actually. Thanksgiving was awesome :) Except for the fact that the night before Thanksgiving, I woke up at 3am throwing up. No food for Desiree on Thanksgiving... But it was still a great day. Jared and I were together from that morning, until late that night. We started with the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade at my house. Random Fact: Jared had never watched the parade before. And it's one of my favorite parts about Thanksgiving, so we had to watch it together :) Then we went to his house for dinner where I managed to keep down a roll. Then we went to his best friends house for another dinner. Then we finally ended up at my house for yet another dinner.
We ended the night with Jared going off to work a long shift at Kohls for Black Friday (11pm - 12pm) and of course I still went shopping even with a 101.3 fever. It was worth it :)
<3
Last Saturday we went on an awesome date in Salt Lake. The date involved driving around SLC for 30 minutes trying to find parking. Jared got pretty frustrated. But seriously, I think everyone decided to go to Salt Lake that night. I felt like I was in New York City.
First, we went ice skating outside at Gallivan Plaza :)
My camera was being all blurry and stupid...

Sometimes Jared needed a break and had to hold onto the sides of the rink.
Haha no, he just thought he was being funny.
After ice skating we stood in line for what felt like 45 minutes at Subway in City Creek Mall. Like I said, I swear everyone was in SLC that night... And apparently they all wanted Subway. After we finally finished eating, it was off to Temple Square :) The best thing about this date was the weather! It wasn't even cold at all.
We started at the Joseph Smith building :)
Then we just walked around the temple and probably provided way too much PDA for all the Temple Square goers that night..
What an amazing end to a wonderful night :) Being with my sweetheart at Temple Square during Christmas time. It doesn't get much better than that :) I feel like we've been together for such a long time. There's just something special between us where I feel like I've known him my whole life. Speaking of which, our 9 month anniversary was yesterday. We spent it eating chocolate covered oreos, more chocolate stuff, and watching Elf. I love him so much and every day I get to spend with him is such a blessing that I try my best not to take for granted. Since I've already done the whole "waiting for a missionary" thing, I know how much of a gift it is to spend time with the person I love. I would always say, "If I could just go back.. I'd really cherish my time with him". So that's what I'm trying to do now :)
I put together a little video of random events that have happened since Halloween :)
If the video decides to be stupid and not work.. You can just head over to my youtube channel at www.youtube.com/desimoore14 :)

JARED'S MISSION CALL!!

(I realize that I wrote about his mission call on my other blog and forgot about this one. So
I copied and pasted my post from that blog onto this one :))

Yes. I put it in all caps because that's how excited I am. I'm trying to contain myself right now. Just watch the video and you'll see why :)
His face is perfect :) He read it in his head before he read it out loud. I was like, "AH
WHAT DOES IT SAY!!" But based on his face, I knew he wasn't going to Boise :)

I can't even describe how excited I am.
For a lot of selfish reasons actually. Italy would have been my dream mission. I've always wanted to marry someone who went to Italy on his mission. Italian is my favorite language. I want to visit Italy more than anywhere else. ALSO, I know the mail system in Europe isn't too bad so that's just a bonus ;)
He's so excited, and I'm extremely proud of him. I think it's funny because I'm the one in the relationship who loves old cultures, buildings, cities, anything in history really. He's the one who is all into modern anything. And now he's going to one of the oldest cities :) I love it!!
 He was so happy :)

January 16th, 2013.
Want to know something so weird about that date? Get this, it's the day before my first missionary comes home. Weird right? I think Heavenly Father has a sense of humor sometimes. I don't think it's all that funny though.
Anyway, I was expecting him to leave in like November. But I'm so excited we get to spend the Holidays together :) We've only been dating for 8 months. So I'm glad we get more time together. But at the same time, I wish he would just leave sooner so he can come home sooner.
For anyone who doesn't know, I've had a missionary before. Almost two years ago this same thing was happening. It's crazy though how different it feels this time. I like it :)
I'M JUST SO EXCITED!!!!!!!

Jared Answers some Questions

A bunch of girls wanted to see Jared's point of view and feelings towards the beginning of our relationship while I was still writing Preston. Well, he talks about some of those feelings in this video :)

New Blog Address

Hey girls!
I know I asked you all for your email address so I could invite you to my new blog. Turns out it's only letting me invite like 60 people. And that doesn't seem fair. So I'm opening it up to be public again. Please feel free to go over and check it out :) It's what I'm using now as my main blog. Here's the address:

Hope to see you there :)

Ask Desiree :)

Hey everyone! :)
I'm still alive. This blog is just currently "under construction" because of the fact that I'm not exactly still a MG. I will be again though, but not yet :)
I've said this before, but I have a different blog that I'm currently using. It's mainly about my relationship with Jared. If you'd like an invite, leave me a comment.

I know some of you may have questions, so now if your chance to ask. I'll try to answer any type of questions as honestly as I can. You can ask me about what happened with Preston, anything about being an MG, relationship advice, anything about my relationship with Jared, his upcoming mission, etc... You can even ask what my favorite type of pizza is. I don't even care :) I have just gotten quite a few questions from people, so this is my chance to answer them. Leave a comment on youtube or here, and I'll answer them in my next video :)

I love you all!! :)

How Could I Possibly be Dating When I'm "Such a Dedicated MG"??

Recently I've got some questions through emails, messages on YouTube, comments, facebook that sound like this:
  • How could you possibly be dating when you are/were such a dedicated missionary girlfriend?
  • How did you and Jared meet?
  • How did you know you were supposed to be dating?
Instead of writing about it, I just made another video. Sorry for all the videos, I'm just a video person. So if anyone has any other questions, feel free to comment/message/email me.

15 Months & Lots of Change

Preston has been gone for 15 months as of today. I remember when I had 15 months left. It keeps making me realize how fast time really does go by.
Anyway, as you girls know, things have changed. I just kind of made this video to explain the fact that I don't have "two boyfriends" like some of you have said.
Enjoy :)

Meet Jared :)

(Warning: This post is not about me waiting for my missionary, so if you are looking for those posts, scroll down a little. This is something a little different)
<3
Jared is my boyfriend while I'm waiting with 9 months to go.
I know all of you are "team Preston" but since Jared has become a part of my waiting process, I thought I'd include him with one post dedicated to him.
He really has supported me with waiting. He's such a sweetheart, and has been a wonderful blessing.
We've been dating 2 months today. He leaves on his mission sometime in the near future, so I don't know what will happen. But since this blog is supposed to be a diary of my wait, I just had to include Jared. Because he's become a wonderful part of my wait.
Instead of writing about Jared, I'll just.... show him to you :)
Desiree and Jared from Desiree Moore on Vimeo.

As if that wasn't enough, here's another 18 minutes of Jared and I answering some questions about how well we know each other. Sometimes we get bored on Friday nights and so this is what happens..

ONE YEAR DOWN!

Feb 9th 2012
(I know that was technically yesterday.. but it doesn't matter)
Preston has officially been gone for one year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We have now passed the halfway mark. And now he only has 11 months left because he comes home in January. Seriously, yesterday I was freaking out. I walked out of my house and went to school, basically looking/acting like this...
So instead of writing about how excited I was. I'll just show you the video that contains all my happiness :) Enjoy!
p.s. I really do love him more than the day he left. I didn't expect the first year to be so easy. I can't wait to experience this next year. There's no way I'm not waiting for him :)
You can't tell. But in this picture I was dying inside. This was taken on the curbside at the MTC a year ago from yesterday. I just really can't believe we've come this far :)

I'M HOME!!!

Well everyone, I am officially back in the good ole USA after 4 amazing months in China :) Which means I'll be updating my blog on a regular basis again! :)
I just can't believe how fast time went. I swear I was just posting about how I was leaving. I could write a million paragraphs about all my experiences there. But that's probably a bit much huh. So I'll just tell you about my "coming home" experience.
About a week before we left, I developed a pretty nasty ear infection. I thought it would be gone before we left China. Well, that didn't happen. So I flew from Hong Kong, to Korea, to LA, to SLC with this infection. It wasn't so bad at first, but by the time we got to LA I was dying. So when we landed in Salt Lake I was in a lot of pain. But nothing beat seeing my family and friends :) I am so lucky to have other MG friends who surprised me at the airport. Ashley, Alix, you guys seriously rock :)
I also witnessed some soldiers coming home. And wanna know the cutest thing? I witnessed one soldier coming down the escalader and when he got to the bottom, his girlfriend ran up and hugged him. Right after that, he kneeled down and proposed :) Talk about making me antsy.. It kinda really made me want my boy home right then and there.
Ok I got side tracked. Sorry. So then we left the airport and I went straight to the emergency room. I almost made it to 20 years young without ever stepping foot into that place. Dang my stupid ear infection.
(p.s. This was taken after the doctor stuck something in the ear and made me cry. I wasn't very happy)
They just gave me a ton of meds and sent me on my way. The next day I was nauseated alllllll day. I was so mad cuz I only have 2 weeks in Utah. But prayers really do work, and today I felt better. I am finally enjoying the Christmas season. I've got a lot of stuff to do in the next 3 days!
Basically, I'm just glad to be home :) It's so cliche to say, but there really is no place like home for the holidays :)

(And just to update you, me and Preston are just better than ever :) We get to skype on Christmas and I'm awaiting a Christmas package from him. We're still more in love than ever :))

My Comfort Songs from Feb 2011

I heard all 3 of these songs either today or yesterday. They are the 3 songs that helped get me through when Preston first left in February. Really the only song I could listen to that didn't make me cry was this one:
Here Comes The Sun
Next was this one. Now this one made me cry. A lot.
Hero
And this last song is one that I listened to a lot a couple weeks into his mission. When I was finally coming out of that really depressed stage. Certain lyrics fit exactly how I was feeling. It made me cry, yes. But it was one of those songs that even though it makes you sad, it makes you happy.
Today My Life Begins

MG Slideshow :)

Facebook was stupid and removed the video because it violated privacy rules... So I'm hoping all of you girls will watch it on here!
It's nothing that special. It's just us and our boys :) Sorry that I probably left some girls out. But there were over 100 pictures that wanted to be put in and that would have taken a lot longer. So I included random ones :) I hope you all enjoy!!

Mothers Day Skpying!! :D

BEST. DAY. EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Let me start by explaining how smart my missionary isn't. Haha :) Last week he told me he'd be skyping me (because his family doesn't have skype) at 10:00. He emailed his mom that same day and told her 11:00. And that he'd be calling.. not skyping. Weird. So his mom texted me yesterday and told me to come over at 11:00, even though I told her that he told me 10:00.
So I'm in the bathroom this morning getting ready to go over to his house (my stomach was flipping out) and I brought my laptop in just in case... And sure enough, my skype started ringing! I freaked out!! I only had foundation on, no eye makeup or nothin'. This was not how I pictured him seeing me. But I answered anyway and I think time stood still when I first saw him :) I was the happiest girl alive in that moment :) Then I told him I'd run over to his moms house. So I booked it over there and the skyping officially started :)

Seriously it was amazing :) When I got there, his mom was in the shower so we got to talk for awhile :) It was not awkward at all. I don't think we could ever be awkward :) He was sooo adorable. He looked over to the window and said stuff like:
"You know what's cool? See this sun? It's the same sun shinning down on both of us :)"
And...
"I think about you every night at 10:30 and just dream about our future. I don't even have to try, it just happens :)"
Haha :) he told me about this amazing candy bar that he discovered and I told him to send it to me in a future package, and he just said "Or we can buy one when I take you here :)" that works too :) Oh gosh we just talked about everything under the sun :) I asked him to speak in Hungarian so he recited the first vision. And man, it was so attractive :)
After awhile his mom and sister came out to talk to him (his dad lives in Texas) and that took probably 30 minutes. Then they left for church and left me at their house with Preston :) Then his older brother came over and talked to him for like 15 minutes. Overall, the skype call lasted 2 hours :) It was just beyond amazing :)
When it came time to say bye, we were like little junior high kids. I told him he'd have to be the one to hang up cuz I wasn't going to do it :) We probably said "I love you" 4 or 5 times before he eventually hung up :) I have been on cloud 9 ever since :) There's no doubt in my mind that he's the one :)
Also, today is our 2 year, 10 month anniversary. He actually remembered too :) He said he was talking to his companion about it :)
It's just been an amazing day! I can soooo get through the next 7 months until we will see each other again :) my waiting batteries are 1,000% charged!
I LOVE ELDER WRIGHT!!! <3
p.s. 32.7 weeks until Christmas ;)

You Think Taylor Lautner is Hot???

First you think of hot guys as being tan, buff, nice hair, drives a sports car, etc...
But if you really think about it, You know what truly is the epitome of an attractive man?
A man who goes on a mission :) a man called to serve :) These are our modern day stripling warriors, ladies! :)
Me and my sister Paris have been up for the past 2 hours putting this together for ya'll.
Enjoy with an open mind :)

p.s. sorry for posting another video, yet again.
