Saint Patricks Day :)

Happy Saint Patricks Day!! I'm a pretty big fan of every holiday. I love the excuse to celebrate something, anything :) People should learn to be more excitable over the simple things. Like the excuse to celebrate the Irish for example. Even if you aren't Irish. Just celebrate it anyway :) It's good for you :)
For dinner we made a traditional Irish meal. Cabbage, corned beef and lots of potatoes. It was pretty good :) I'd never tried corned beef before. So that's something to check off of my goals for this month :) Then I spent the day making this dessert:

Mmmmm, it was way good. And of course, it involved green pudding (aka pistachio pudding) I have been making so many desserts lately it's ridiculous. K now i'm distracting myself. My point is, enjoy the little things :) Like Saint Patricks day. Wear green and be happy :) surround yourself with family and friends and people who make you happy and do things that make you happy. Just be happy :)

Happiness in Simplicity

Oh what a busy and boring week its been. My favorite days were the days I was doing anything that reminded me of Preston. Example #1: Going to the Missionary Girlfriend party :) All those girls instantly became friends  :) We went to in-n-out and then
headed over to the mall and then ended with
Tangled :) It was a good night because I got to
talk about Preston non stop :) Talking about him
makes me super super happy :)
Example #2: Sunday. Sundays are the very best day of the week. I will tell you why. On Sundays you get to spend the day with family. You also get to go to church and feel that spiritual high. Most importantly, you don't have time to sit in your room alone and think about your missionary (at least I don't) This past Sunday was amazing. Me and my 3 sisters decided to go on a picnic to one my favorite places. It's this baseball park in American Fork. It's honestly one of my most favorite places in the world. Weird right? There's something so peaceful and I feel such serenity when I'm there. Being there around sunset is the most beautiful sight. Me and Preston played softball there and it's just a park full of memories :) After the park we walked around the Mount Timpanogos Temple. I love being around the temple whenever I can. We also walked around the Amphitheatre in AF. Sometimes you just need to go on a drive and visit those special places :)

One more day and we'll be at 5 weeks. As much as I'm waiting for so much to happen, I'm so excited for what's going to be happening in the somewhat near future :) I've learned if I get excited for little things that happen in the near future, it makes me feel better than if I'm constantly just waiting for 2 years to end. I really like the quote that says, 

"Happiness is not found at the end of the road, it is experienced along the way. So take not for granted each moment of your life and you will find a reason to be happy each day"

I'm trying to work on this everyday. <3

99 weeks left

ONE ♥

Preston has officially been gone for one full month :) I'm so proud that i've even made it this far. Back at day two I can fully remember saying to myself, "Can I please be at one month already? I will be so happy when that happens" And here I am :) Time actually flew by. I hope it stays the same :)

This month I got:

• 4 letters
• 3 personal emails
• 2 cassettes 
• and 32 pictures :)

It has indeed been the hardest month of my life, but also one of the best :) It's an amazing thing to only communicate with someone you love through letters. It has brought me and Preston so close. I also believe it's because Heavenly Father is blessing both of us so much. 

And of course being a girl, I am pretty creative! I absolutely love sending packages. It's kinda my thing. I'm gonna send one every month. It'll just be as a celebration that it's been another month down :) This is his "One Month" package. 

There was a reason for almost everything I put in it. Here's what I put in: New cassettes, tissues, pirouettes, mentos, pictures, missionary action figures, a letter and a memory card with a couple video's of my on it :) 

So I decided to make some goals for this month. I have a lot of stuff that I need to accomplish while my man is gone :) So these are going to be my goals for this month (I'll probably add some as the month goes on) 

1. Finish D&C (I started the day Preston left)
2. Complete 10 volunteer service hours
3. Work out at least 3 days a week
4. Send a letter every week and another package at the end of the month :)
5. Bake something new once a week
6. See Never Say Never again (hehe)
7. Decide what job I want to have over the summer
8. Blog once a week :)
9. Watch Titanic (I've been wanting to watch this since Preston left but I haven't been able to do it..)
10. Try a new food :)

There will be more goals to come :) Overall....

Can I Just Say.. :)

Can I just say that I LOVE days like these???? :) :) :) 

I went to school just to hear an apostle speak at a Institute devotional (Elder Cook) and I come to find THIS waiting for me! :)

I was so excited :) Wanna know what was in it????? :)

A cassette, 32 pictures, AND a letter :) Oh my goodness I was beyond excited. 

This was my favorite one :) My missionary is seriously so handsome :) :)

After all that excitement, I got ready and went to Preston's house to hang out with his mom and sister :) It's been 23 days since the last time I was at his house. I honestly thought I would be nervous going back, but I wasn't :) It felt normal :) I went in his room, it just brought back so many memories. Anyway, We ordered Cafe Rio and watched a movie :) It was exactly what I needed. In Preston's letter, he told me to keep hanging out with his family :) One thing I loved that he said was, 

"You have no idea how much I love that you have been sending me stuff every day! It puts the biggest smile on my face :) I love it so stinkin' much! Just like I love you :)" 

I just love my missionary. To death. Only 100 1/2 more weeks....... 

Mission Stuff! :)

I'm finally turning my sadness into excitement :) :)
I've been buying anything that has to do with my missionary. Anything. I just wanted to show some of the things I'm going to buy in the future, as well as some of the things i've already bought. I decided i'm going to send Preston one package a month. That's only 24 packages. Some will be small, like only a couple of items. And then of course his birthday and christmas packages will be bigger.
Here are some of the items I've recently found :)

This is a countdown. I already have one, But i would like another one :) And then I love this license plate cover :) Isn't it adorable? Like i've said before. I don't care who knows that i'm waiting.

Preston has always loved t-shirts so I'm going to be buying this pretty soon :)

These are customizable name tag key rings. Of course they aren't exactly like the ones the missionaries get, but i'm ok with that :) I'm gonna get one that just says, "Elder Wright" and i'm also going to get one that says, "Elder Wright's Girlfriend" :)

Preston is going to Hungary so i'm going to buy him this hoodie his last couple months on his mission, so that he can wear it when he comes home :) You can find t-shirts and sweatshirts with any mission on them.

How cute are these missionary action figures? :) This is exactly what Preston and his companion in the MTC look like. I bought these today to send in the One Month package next week :)

That's it for today. On my "recap" post I showed some pictures of the pillow case and my keychain and my other countdown. All this stuff is fun :) I decided i'm going to buy one of these items every month. Just one a month. And i'll slowly get them all :)

The Food Network = Cravings

Whenever i'm feeling down or I just want to watch TV, I watch the Food Network. It is serious therapy for me. I just love it. Because of the food network, I have a list of foods I need to try. 

 #1 Pinkberry

                                            

This is a frozen yogurt place. But they are known to be "tart" instead of tasting like dairy. I've also heard Taylor Swift talk about how it's one of her favorite places. I must try it! 

#2 Spread

There is a restaurant in California called, "Spread". They are known for their peanut butter. The one I am dying to try is number 73, the "White chocolate infused with pretzels peanut butter". Doesn't that just sound amazing? It soooo does.

#3 Panera Bread

I have actually been to this place when I was in Nashville. If you ever get the chance, GO THERE!

Get their Strawberry Poppyseed Salad. It is to die for. If you've ever been to Zupas and gotten their "Nuts About Berries" salad, It's like that, but way better :)

#4 Blue Bell

Blue Bell ice cream. I love this ice cream so much. Once again, you can't this in Utah. Preston introduced me to it when we were in Texas. And can I just say, it's the best mint ice cream I've ever had. It had a million little chocolate pieces in it. Not just a bunch of big pieces. Mmmm :)

#5 Chocolate Covered Pomegranate Seeds

 

I can't make a list of foods without including chocolate. I watched a whole show on the food network about chocolate covered pomegranate seeds. I know what you're probably thinking, "That sounds a little weird.." That's what I thought. But right now i'm highly contemplating making my own at home :)

Last but not least. Just try this:

3 Ingredients: Wheat bread, Nutella and a Banana 

Anything involving Nutella tastes good. Another favorite is dipping banana chips in Nutella. 

Wow i'm really hungry now.

Recap :)

I have been pretty happy lately :) Every other day I still have a breakdown.. But I'm getting used to it. I am now at day 18 :) In a way, if i look back on all the days, it's gone extremely slow. But if I think about it, I also feel like I just said goodbye to Preston. So it's gone by fast and slow. I'm sure some of you girls know how that feels.
So, Preston's first letter was depressing and short. I already blogged about it. I wasn't very happy... but oh boy did that change. His last letter was AMAZING! It was 7 pages long and just, amazing :) Then i also got a personal email this week! I was not expecting it. Which made it even better. I feel more in love with him now than i ever have. I know we can do this. We are going to prove so many people wrong :)
I'm pretty sure i'm obsessed with being a missionary girlfriend. But you know what, I am not ashamed and I do not care who knows. These are a couple things I got last week for my Birthday :)

Preston gave me this build-a-bear right before he left as a early birthday present. It has a voice chip inside and i absolutely love it :)

This looks silly. But I love it. Every bubble represents a day. Every morning when I wake up, I fill in another bubble :) This picture is a week and a half old. So i really am farther along than that :)

I am never giving up. I will never say never. This is not impossible. With God, anything is possible. I am using this time to focus on me :) If I put my mind to it, I can do it. Just never give up :)
